I make quilts...
all colors & sizes - for lots of different people.
When creating a quilt, I am allowed to sew various pieces of fabric into something that can provide comfort, warmth & solace to the recipient. Most of all, it allows me time to reflect upon the life of the person I am making the quilt for and how my knowing them has affected my life.
What better way to document the exciting changes in my life than through this medium!! As most of you know, last November I put up a Christmas tree in my home after a 12 year hiatus and proclaimed Christmas 2009 as my "miracle Christmas". Little did I know the miracles that would follow.
On December 8, Jessica provided the proof of my first miracle - she & Benji would receive a blessing from Heaven. After a frustrating year of trying to conceive a baby, her pregnancy test came back positive with an expected due date of August 15. The first ultrasound was done & I was given a framed picture of Baby Sessums for Christmas.
On January 11, Matthew phoned to ask, "Mom, how would you feel about having a 2nd grandchild?" Needless to say, I was elated at the thought of having not one, but two grandchildren due within three weeks of each other.
Fast forward to today - both Jessica & Gabrielle are doing wonderful in their pregnancies, neither have been really sick and both are expecting boys. I CAN do boys!!!
